Image
Bismillah In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Loving, the Most Forgiving   Alhamdulillah we went to the Whipsnade zoo for the first time. We really had a great time watching the animals. We also went on the steam train. It was a rainy day but we were quite well prepared alhmadulillah. We hope we can go there again inshAllah.   Apparently lions sleep most of the day!     Fantastic Flamingos  Our first ride on a steam engine Alhamdulillah, loved the smell :-) I love the smell of oil, petrol etc .   Humble elephants...       We loved the sea lions. Kids really enjoyed listening to their sounds. We have learnt to sound like them. I just love their smooth skin mashAllah. Apparently the male ones are very loud and territorial.   Beautiful butterflies...what an amazing creation of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala! I took a lot of photos of them.       ...

Bismillah In the Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, the Most Loving, the Most Forgiving   Alhamdulillah we have tried to go to park several times during the summer break. It is Yusuf's last summer before he starts full time schooling. We tried our best to get the most out of this beautiful and very rare sunny weather in London. I love nature and I am trying to instil that love in our children inshAllah. The more connected I am to the creations of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, the more I will appreciate Him and His amazing qualities. We are so blessed to be able to visit all these beautiful places, Alhamdulillah.   Roaming around the local park, collecting Dandelions. We enjoy making Dandelion pakora, pancakes. Very healthy snacks for the family mashAllah.       Another lovely local park mashAllah. They went with their friends Hafsa and Ayman and have learnt some new skills Alhamdulillah.   We went to the central library where they have le...

Helping kids to learn the Qur'an

Image
Bismillah In the name of Allah the Most Merciful the Most Forgiving the Most Loving Alhamdulillah our children can read the Arabic words. They are learning the chapters from juz amma i.e the 30th part of the Qur'an with their teacher Ranna. To facilitate learning the Qur'an, I am using the following videos. I have recently read this very useful post on memorization. I have attached the original source. May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala reward the blogger, ameen! A sample Hifdh Schedule for children One of my beautiful friends has memorized the Qur'an mashAllah. She always suggests me that I listen to the Qur'an on a daily basis as that will definitely help me to memorize the chapters of the Qur'an inshaAllah. Learning the Book of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is a lifelong mission. It is not just a task to force on our children. We must show our love and dedication to learn the Qur'an. Only then our children will also love the Qur'an and will have...

Let us the Muslim parents walk the talk!

Image
Bismillah..In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Giving Alhamdulillah today while researching for the Aaila magazine , I came across this excellent talk by Sheikh Yasir Qadhi. MashAllah he is an amazing speaker with so much knowledge of the faith. I feel so blessed to be able to benefit from his work, alhamdulillah. This talk is about parenting. He talks about how we can raise our children as good Muslims. This beautiful reminder has inspired me to think and write about this topic. Parenting with Purpose & by Example by Sh. Yasir Qadhi Children are amazing blessings. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala teaches us that our children are our adornment on this earth. Just imagine a world without the children! They bring so much joy in our life, alhamdulillah.  We can reach the higher levels of jannah (garden of paradise) through investing in our children. How many of us really reflect on this fact? Is parenting one of the major topics in our mind on a daily b...

Our first half-term

Image
Alhamdulillah our children have been going to school since September of this year. I was really worried for them thinking whether we are doing the right thing for them. Alhamdulillah they are really enjoying school. Even when they are sick, they don't want to miss school! I used to find excuses not to go to school ;-)  It's their first half term since they started school. So I have been quite excited about this half term. So far we have been having lots of fun learning. I hope to share our adventures through videos and photos inshAllah. I love blogging their activities as it really helps me to keep a record of most of the activities they do on a weekly basis. They also love it. Besides, I would love to hear from you about what you have been up to during the half term. We can always learn from each other. Happy holidays :-) Make the most of these precious days and create sweet memories to cherish forever inshAllah.  Im has been playing with his beloved cars. He has been ...

August update

Bismillah... In the name of Allah the Most-Merciful Alhamdulillah we have been quite busy this month. Arabic and French classes going quite well alhamdulillah. Kids are settled now. Although I am not really happy with the French lessons, I may pull them out in September and carry on sending them for the Arabic lessons on weekends. The Arabic lessons are quite well-planned mashAllah. They are using Arabic Made Easy Foundation 1 book (My little world) and the handwriting book from the same series. They are learning new words in every session.  For Qur'anic Arabic, they are using Ahsanul Qawayid. I have met the teachers last week. They are very friendly mashAllah, especially the Arabic teacher. She suggested that our kids should watch Arabic kids channels so that they can get used to Arabic pronunciation. I am watching Jeem channel Sky 823 with them and trying to translate as much as possible. It is quite an westernized channel, I must admit. I need some good Muslim c...
